Description:
Killington Bridge Local Nature Reserve (LNR) is a long strip of land that is sandwiched between the River Lune and farmland. It is owned and managed by the Yorkshire Dales National Park Authority. It consists of a steep woodland bank running down to the river which flattens out at the top to provide a narrow strip of grassland, scrub and a diverse hedge which is partially laid. Salmon occur in the river and there is a strong likelihood that a number of mammals such as otter and badger use the wood.

Access and facilities:
Killington Bridge LNR can be accessed where the B6256 crosses the River Lune. From the bridge there is a path which is accessible to the general public including disabled users. This public right of way links in with other public footpaths in the area including the Dales Way long distance walking route. There is an interpretation panel aimed specifically at disabled users at the start of the path near the bridge and another at the far end. There is a small amount of car parking available in a layby.
