Provide clear and consistent messages about what is special and what people can do to help conserve the special qualities of the Yorkshire Dales National Park, so that at least 50% of visitors and 70% of residents have an understanding of national park purposes and/or the special qualities of the Yorkshire Dales by 2010.

Progress update:
The regional visitor survey in 2008 showed that 50% of regular visitors to the Yorkshire Dales were able to name three or more of the special qualities of the National Park. A survey of residents’ in early 2009 showed that over 75% of residents could name three or more of the special qualities of the National Park.
