Walkers onPen-y-Ghent
The Yorkshire Dales is a fabulous place to go walking whether you are looking for a gentle stroll besides one of the many rivers, or you are looking for a hike on a wild and empty moorland.
Starting out
If you find walking a challenge or your group includes a wheelchair or buggy then have a look in our Access for all abilities section.
If your navigation is not up to scratch or you are not a confident walker, you can always join a guided walk or take one of the suggested short walks which are based around village centres.
Check out the menu on the left for details of short walks, long distance trails and guided walks.
If you are planning to walk with your dog please visit our bringing your dog page.
Always follow the Countryside Code.
