Yorkshire Dales National Park Authority Website Links Protocol and Guidelines

The purpose of the links section of the Yorkshire Dales National Park Authority website is to provide a manageable and meaningful selection of hyperlinks to further information for those interested in the Yorkshire Dales National Park, its surroundings, and the work, priorities and statutory purposes of the Authority.

The Authority has two purposes:

  • to conserve and enhance the natural beauty, wildlife and cultural heritage of the area
  • to promote opportunities for the understanding and enjoyment of the special qualities of the parks by the public

In carrying out these purposes, we also also have a duty to seek to foster the social and economic well-being of local communities.

To fulfil these purposes, the Authority offers services that provide help and advice on a wide range of issues, including environmental conservation and enhancement, planning, historic buildings and sites, tourist information and footpath and bridleway management.

Any web links we make should complement and add value to the work of the Authority, as well as help progress our aims.

Our links section will guide the user to a range of information including outdoor activities, the environment, countryside issues, heritage, sustainable tourism and transport, and our partners.

This is not intended to be an exhaustive list of websites, and we acknowledge that it may not list some sites that are relevant to the National Park and the work of the Authority. We believe that too many links would make the list unwieldy and unmanageable and are therefore selective in our choices.

We reserve the right not to create a web link at our discretion and without further explanation.

If you think that your company and/or organisation meets the guidelines outlined below and you would like us to establish a hyperlink to your website, you are invited to download a copy of our Hyperlink Request Form from our Document Library. Please complete this form and return it to the Communications Officer (contact details at the bottom of this page).
